Proverde Orchid Feed

ProVerde Garden® Orchid Feed

A specially formulated liquid fertiliser designed to support healthy orchid growth, stronger roots, vibrant leaves, and long-lasting blooms—ideal for orchids including Phalaenopsis Orchid (Moth Orchids), the most popular indoor flowering orchid variety.

Key Benefits

  • Encourages stronger root development
  • Promotes healthy leaf growth and vibrant green foliage
  • Supports longer-lasting flowers and repeat blooming
  • Helps improve flower spike development
  • Fast-acting liquid formula for rapid nutrient absorption
  • Suitable for most orchid varieties including Phalaenopsis Orchid, Dendrobium, Cattleya, and Oncidium

Phalaenopsis orchids are light feeders and benefit most from regular diluted feeding rather than strong fertiliser applications. Experts commonly recommend the “weakly, weekly” method for healthier blooms and roots.

Instructions for Use

  1. Shake bottle well before use
  2. Measure 20ml using the bottle cap or measuring cup
  3. Add to 1 litre of clean water
  4. Mix thoroughly
  5. Water the orchid potting media or bark mix evenly
  6. Avoid pouring directly into the crown (centre of the plant)
  7. Allow excess water to drain fully
  8. Never leave orchids sitting in water

Always apply fertiliser to moist roots or pre-water first to avoid root burn, as orchid roots are sensitive to salt build-up.

Feeding Frequency

Spring to Early Autumn

Feed every 7–14 days

Winter

Feed every 3–4 weeks or reduce feeding significantly

During Dormancy

Reduce or pause feeding until active new growth appears

Orchid & Phalaenopsis Care Instructions

1. Light

Place orchids in bright, indirect sunlight

Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch leaves.

Phalaenopsis prefer filtered light near east- or north-facing windows.

2. Watering

Water only when the potting media begins to dry.

Avoid:

  • overwatering
  • soggy roots
  • standing water

Healthy roots should dry slightly between watering.

Overwatering is the most common orchid care mistake.

3. Airflow & Humidity

Orchids prefer:

  • gentle airflow
  • moderate humidity
  • warm stable temperatures

Avoid placing near heaters or cold drafts.

4. Pruning

After flowering:

  • remove dead flowers
  • trim spent flower spikes if necessary
  • remove yellow or damaged leaves

This helps redirect energy into healthy new growth.

5. Repotting

Repot every 1–2 years

Use:

  • orchid bark mix
  • well-draining orchid media
  • pots with drainage holes

Never use normal garden soil.

6. Pest Monitoring

Check regularly for:

  • mealybugs
  • aphids
  • scale insects
  • fungal issues
  • root rot

Treat early for best results.

Professional Tip

Healthy orchids thrive on the balance of:

Light + Water + Airflow + Feeding

Too much fertiliser causes more damage than too little.

Feed lightly, consistently, and allow proper drainage for best flowering results.
